An alert from the CEO
On February 26, 2015, Google announced the following critical change in how they will rank websites in search results:
“Starting on April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal. This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact on our search results. Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high-quality search results that are optimized for their devices.”
This change underscores the need to have a mobile version of your website, or better still, a responsive design that provides a site that adapts automatically for computer, laptop, tablet and phone in one site.
Until now, a mobile website was recommended because of the large number of people viewing the internet from their phones. In fact, we are seeing more than 50% of our client’s traffic coming from phones. Now, with this major change to Google’s algorithm favoring those sites with a mobile presence, NOT having a mobile version of your website has the strong potential to negatively impact your search engine ranking. In addition, any competitors in your area that have a mobile-friendly website could rank higher than you as a result of this change.
If you have been putting off the mobile website for your practice, now is the time to do it.
As your partner in your online visibility, we wanted to make sure you were aware of this change and provide you with an opportunity to add a mobile option to your website. For a discounted price of $499 and $10 per month, we will build a mobile website that matches your main site. Or ask about upgrading to a responsive design. Don’t get left behind in this mobile-friendly world.
